The Digi Yatra facility is a mobile application-based service that aims to provide a contactless, seamless processing of passengers at airports using Facial Recognition Technology (FRT).
It allows travelers to pass through various checkpoints at the airports through paperless processes.
The facility is available at 13 airports in India, catering to 85% of the country's domestic air passenger traffic.

Decentralized Mobile-based ID Storage Platform: Digi Yatra is a decentralized mobile-based ID storage platform where air travelers can save their IDs and travel documents.
No Central Storage of PII Data: In the Digi Yatra process, there is no central storage of passengers' Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data. All the passengers' data is encrypted and stored in the wallet of their smartphone, shared only between the passenger and the airport of travel origin.
Built on Four Pillars: Digi Yatra is built on four pillars, including connected passengers, connected flying, connected airports, and connected systems, ensuring easy entry at all checkpoints.
Biometric Enabled Seamless Travel (BEST): Digi Yatra uses facial recognition technology to provide a contactless, seamless movement of passengers at various checkpoints at airports.
The Digi Yatra facility has been implemented at several airports, including New Delhi, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Guwahati.
The facility is expected to be available at 25 more airports in 2024, covering 38 airports in total.
