  1. The NITI Aayog's Three-Year Action Agenda, on the other hand, is a comprehensive document outlining the framework of policy changes for the period of 2017-2020. 
  2. The primary objective of the Three-Year Action Agenda was to outline a comprehensive strategy for accelerating economic growth, promoting social inclusion, and fostering sustainable development.
  3. The agenda seeks to address the challenges faced by the country and provide a roadmap for achieving sustainable development. 
  4. It offers a range of policy recommendations and action points, including the promotion of digital payments, the expansion of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the creation of a National Health Stack, and the establishment of a National Nutrition Mission. 
  5. The NITI Aayog's Three Year Action Agenda covers the following seven key areas:
    • Agriculture and Rural Transformation: The agenda focuses on agricultural and rural development, including measures to enhance productivity, improve infrastructure, and ensure sustainable growth in rural areas.
    • Economic Growth: It outlines strategies for promoting economic growth, fostering innovation, and creating an enabling environment for businesses.
    • Education and Skill Development: The agenda emphasizes the importance of quality education and skill development to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.
    • Health and Nutrition: It includes measures to improve healthcare infrastructure, enhance access to quality healthcare services, and address nutritional challenges.

    • Governance and Institutional Reforms: The agenda includes measures to enhance governance, improve the efficiency of institutions, and promote transparency and accountability in the public sector. 
  6. The NITI Aayog's Three-Year Action Agenda is a crucial document for policymakers and researchers to understand the priorities and challenges facing the country and to develop strategies for addressing them.
  7. On the other hand, the NITI Aayog's Seven-Year Strategy, also known as the "Strategy for New India @75," is a comprehensive national strategy that outlines a detailed exposition of forty-one crucial areas. 
  8. It recognizes the progress made, identifies binding constraints, and suggests the way forward for achieving clearly stated objectives for 2022-23. 
  9. The strategy document covers four main sections: Drivers, Infrastructure, Inclusion, and Governance. 
    • The "Drivers" section of NITI Aayog's Seven-Year Strategy focuses on the engines of economic performance. It includes chapters on growth and employment, doubling of farmers' incomes, and accelerating the gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate inclusively and sustainably. 
      • The section also outlines objectives such as increasing the investment rate and total exports, along with identifying the current situation, constraints, and the way forward for achieving the stated objectives.
    • The "Infrastructure" section of NITI Aayog's Seven-Year Strategy encompasses crucial areas such as physical infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and governance. It aims to address the challenges and opportunities in these domains to propel India's development.
    • The "Inclusion" section of NITI Aayog's Seven-Year Strategy focuses on ensuring that the benefits of development reach all sections of society. It encompasses chapters on health, education, and social protection, aiming to address the challenges and opportunities in these areas.
    • The "Governance" section of NITI Aayog's Seven-Year Strategy is based on the seven pillars of effective governance, which include pro-people orientation, proactiveness, citizen participation, empowerment, inclusion, and equality. 
    • These pillars aim to ensure that governance is oriented towards fulfilling societal and individual aspirations, anticipating and responding to citizen needs, and promoting the participation and empowerment of all citizens, among other principles.
  10. It was released in 2018 and is a result of an extremely participative approach, with in-depth consultations with various stakeholders, including business persons, academics, government officials, farmers, civil society organizations, think tanks, labor representatives, and trade unions. 
  11. The overarching focus of the strategy is to make development a "Jan Andolan" (people's movement) and to encourage economic transformation through technology, enterprise, and efficient management.
