  1. Founded in 1983, the silicon valley bank was set up with the focus to finance startups in Silicon valley, california of USA. 1983 में स्थापित, सिलिकॉन वैली बैंक की स्थापना संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के कैलिफोर्निया के सिलिकॉन वैली में स्टार्ट-अप्स के वित्तपोषण पर ध्यान देने के साथ की गई थी।

Silicon Valley Bank, a lender to some of the biggest names in the technology world, became the largest bank to fail since the 2008 financial crisis.  But how has it collapsed? सिलिकॉन वैली बैंक, प्रौद्योगिकी की दुनिया के कुछ सबसे बड़े नामों का ऋणदाता, 2008 के वित्तीय संकट के बाद से असफल होने वाला सबसे बड़ा बैंक बन गया। लेकिन यह कैसे ढह गया?
  3. It had a lot of cash from the Startups from which it bought huge amounts of bonds at cheap rates. In this process it had lost nearly $2 billion. It was because the bank had to sell the bonds at a lower price to meet the demands of the depositors. The SVB crisis unfolded in just 48 hours when it sold bond of 21 billion dollars at a loss of 1.8 billion dollars. आगे के ग्राहकों ने अपना पैसा निकालना शुरू कर दिया और अपनी जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए बैंक को अपने कुछ निवेशों को बेचने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ा जब उनके मूल्य में गिरावट आई थी। इस प्रक्रिया में उसे करीब 2 अरब डॉलर का नुकसान हुआ था। ऐसा इसलिए था क्योंकि जमाकर्ताओं की मांगों को पूरा करने के लिए बैंक को बॉन्ड को कम कीमत पर बेचना पड़ा था। एसवीबी संकट केवल 48 घंटों में सामने आया जब उसने 1.8 अरब डॉलर के नुकसान पर 21 अरब डॉलर के बांड बेचे।
  6. This led to widespread panic among its clients and depositors and also triggered a massive selloff. Customers withdrew a staggering $42 billion of deposits by the end of Thursday, March 9, 2023. इससे इसके ग्राहकों और जमाकर्ताओं में व्यापक दहशत फैल गई और बड़े पैमाने पर बिकवाली भी शुरू हो गई। गुरुवार, 9 मार्च, 2023 के अंत तक ग्राहकों ने 42 बिलियन डॉलर की चौंका देने वाली जमा राशि वापस ले ली।

  8. Silicon Valley Bank is small by comparison with the US’s largest bank. It had assets of the value $209 billion whereas $3 trillion at JPMorgan Chase has assets of $3000 billion. It's fall alone will not have much of consequences.  अमेरिका के सबसे बड़े बैंक की तुलना में सिलिकॉन वैली बैंक छोटा है। इसके पास 209 बिलियन डॉलर मूल्य की संपत्ति थी जबकि जेपी मॉर्गन चेस में 3 ट्रिलियन डॉलर की संपत्ति 3000 बिलियन डॉलर थी। इसके अकेले गिरने से ज्यादा परिणाम नहीं होंगे।
  9. But this event may lead to bank runs in other banks as there also customers may panic and withdraw their money. So perhaps, to some extent, the crisis of 2008 looks imminent. India and Indians must be alert and prepared. लेकिन इस घटना से दूसरे बैंकों में भी बैंक चलने की नौबत आ सकती है क्योंकि वहां भी ग्राहक घबरा सकते हैं और अपना पैसा निकाल सकते हैं। इसलिए शायद कुछ हद तक 2008 का संकट आसन्न लग रहा है। भारत और भारतीयों को सतर्क और तैयार रहना चाहिए।
